Avril Lavigne - The Best Damn Thing
after a long while, she is finally back with her new album! kinda a new image, though still with her signature blonde locks and smokey eyes. she's more colorful now lar, haha. sporting color streaks in her hair, wearing brighter more colorful clothes, and most definitely, we can tell from the album cover itself, its white, pink and all... a far cry from days when its always black, black and more black.
have only heard the album once over so far, its not bad, though i feel its not as good as her previous ones. maybe it'll be fairer if i give it a few more listens before concluding. anyway, check out tracks like 'hot', 'when you're gone', 'keep holding on', 'girlfriend' (which has a pretty entertaining mv). its less angst and anger now, afterall, she seems happily married to her hubby, sum 41's deryck whibley. along with her hubby, the collaborators in the album includes butch walker, travis barker (formerly from blink 182). she shows us a more mature and fun side of her.
i don't know if its jus me, but she gives me an impression of gwen stefani now, haha.. maybe it has to do with all the colors!
