The Hills Have Eyes

went to catch tis movie with b on sat nite. at slightly over 12am at j8, we had only 2 choices left, either tis or 'v for vendetta'. we've already caught the latter, and without knowing much about tis show, we decided to just watch it anyway.
tis is a remake of wes craven's movie of the same title in 1977. after realising it was yet another wes craven movie from the opening credits, i thought i had more or less some idea on what to expect of the show. with movies like, scream, nightmare on elm street, cursed, red eye.. under his belt, i'm prepared to be in for some horror and thrill. man, little did i know i was in for alot more.
plot - a 7-member family and their 2 dogs go on vacation road trip through the desert, heading to california. the gas station owner traps them by directing them to a different route, a supposed short-cut. the truck rans over a spike strip and crashes. the family is stranded in the middle of nowhere. they'll soon realise that this seemingly uninhabitated wasteland is actually a government atomic zone, where a family of blood-thirsty mutants live.
*spoilers ahead - don't read if you're gonna catch the show*most disturbing and emotional scene for me - the father was used as a bait, being tied up and burnt alive. everyone left the trailer site and ran towards him. two of the mutants then went into the trailer and rapes the younger sister who doesn't know what's happening outside cause she was plugged in on her mp3 player. matters got worse when the elder sister heard screams from within the trailer, ran to save her sister, but couldn't help in any way cause her baby girl was held hostage by the mutants. all she could do was sit there while one of the mutants tried to rape her too. and as if this was not enough, the mother then came in and got shot. being a crybaby, my cries climaxed when the mother was asking the son-in-law if the family was all safe and sound during her last few breaths. when the night was over, 3 people and a dog were dead, the baby's missing, and the remaining members were all shook up.
b just couldn't take it that i could actually cry watching such a show, lol. the scene was really upsetting mah!! :P but anyhow, the movie succeeds in bringing out extreme blood and gore. though i'm not someone who's usually scared by such movies, there were instances which i had to close my eyes, cause it was just too disgusting. b almost couldn't take it and wanted to leave midway during the show, keke. and i got bonus scares too, from the person beside me, tsk *shakes head*
