Movies to Watch in 2006
it's time for my yearly movies recommendations entry, keke.
underworld 2: evolution - kate bekinsalethe sequels continues with the war between the death dealers and the lycans. bekinsale stars as selene, once human, now turned the beautiful vampire heroine. other than the plot, we can watch tis show just to see bekinsale fight and maneuver around in that skin-tight spandex outfit, keke. i just lurve her english accent
the da vinci code - tom hanks, jean reno, audrey tautoumurder takes place at the louvre museum. all clues points to a covert religious organization that will stop at nothing to protect a secret that threatens to overturn 2000 years of accepted dogma. a sinister plot to uncover the secret that has been protected since the day of Christ.
click - adam sandler, kate bekinsalesandler comes across this universal remote control which allows him to pause or fast-forward events in his life (ie: like fast-forwarding when his wife (bekinsale) nags at him.. pausing when he can't stand his boss, so he can punch the boss in the face). When the remote starts to create its own memory, choosing what to fast-forward on its own, sandler then sees what he misses out and realises the importance...
brokeback mountain - heath ledger, jake gyllenhaal, anne hathawaydirected by ang lee, this movie has already won many awards. it was a friendship which became a secret. there are lies we have to tell, there are truths we can't deny. an epic love story of two men who unexpectedly forge a lifelong connection, one's who implications, joys and tragedies provides a testament to the endurance and power of love. must-watch!!!
failure to launch - matthew mcconaughey, sarah jessica parkera thirty-something man, who still lives with his parents. a woman is hired by the parents to get him outta the house. what happens when the man falls in love with this woman, and finds out about it. a fresh pairing of mcconaughey and SJP, good-looking lad and charismatic lady, wooo. seems like a really nice romantic comedy
final destination 3 - ryan merriman, mary elizabeth winsteadin FD 1, death found them... in FD 2, death warned them... apparently in FD 3, death will kill them. when a high school student fails to stop a roller coaster ride that she predicted would cause the deaths of several of her friends, she teams up with a school mate in a race against time to prevent the grim reaper from revisiting the survivors of the 1st tragedy
imagine me & you - piper perabo, lena headeyanother movie filmed in england :) a girl who falls in love on her wedding day... but not with the man of honor. at the church, perabo catches the eye of an unexpected guest. should we believe in love at first sight? she starts to think maybe her boyfriend isn't the one she wants to spend the rest of her life with. but she never knows, unless she gives it a shot. gers, go catch this with your girlfriends. well, that is if it gets screened here :P
north country - charlize theron, frances mcdormand, sissy spacek, woody harrelsonall she wanted to do was make a living, instead, she made history. inspired by a true story.. theron returns home after a failed marriage, she needs a good job. she turns to the iron mines, an industry long dominated by men. she is prepared for the dangerous work, but coping with the harrassment from the male coworkers proves far more challenging. she speaks out and is met with resistance. her relations with her family, friends and children is put to the test when she struggles to stand up for what she believes in. a great cast, and a great story
shopgirl - steve martin, claire danes, jason schwartzmandanes is a "plain jane" overseeing the rarely frequented glove counter at a retail shop. an artist struggling to keep up with even the minimum payment on her credit card and student loans, she keeps to herself until a rich, handsome 50-ish, martin, sweeps her off her feet. at the same time, she is being pursued by schwartzman, a basic bachelor who's not quite as cultured and successful as martin. who is she gonna choose? when fate steps in, the outcome won't necessarily have a storybook ending, because in the end, it is life
the above mentioned movies are from my own preference of plot and cast ok... don't ask for a refund from me if u go catch them n find that its not nice :P
